Inner Space turns three on the 26th of December 2013 and we also near the end of another year 🙂
The year has been eventful, lots of action, work, an additional office, new associations, more therapists and so on. But amidst the enjoyable inertia of all this work and action, I want to remind myself and all the Inner Space therapists to not lose sight of why we started Inner Space or even why we decided to become therapists in the first place.
I want to remind them that their choices were made with a lot of heart and to revisit and re-embrace this part of them, because it’s beautiful…and to not lose themselves in the noise of a consuming work life.
While we celebrate the new opportunities and challenges that life has given us with joy and gaiety, I want to share this moment of reflection, of vulnerability, and thought with you through this poem.
This poem is written for all the therapists of Inner Space and is dedicated to all the therapists worldwide.
To You, The Psychotherapist..
“You have a heart that breaks, you have to believe
Without seeing your pain,
Another’s, you cannot relieve
It’s tough work, you have to be strong
To even see that you are weak
…And that’s beautiful, not wrong
And when in doubt, look within,
How bad can you be?
You-who decided to lessen suffering
I love you dearly, love yourself the same way
For there’s nothing to life, if not
love and care and hope for another day”
