Thank you for writing in and for sharing your concerns with us. We understand how stressful and trying this situation must be, for everybody involved in it. often, every person involved has his or her own needs. However, over a period of time, arguments become a pattern, with each person reacting in the same way repeatedly. In such a situation, everybody involved needs to consciously introspect and gain some clarity as to what their needs and perceptions are. We suggest that your family sees a mental health professional. A psychologist/counselor would be able to objectively understand each member and over some counseling sessions, would be able to help each member introspect and change his or her typical way of thinking and reacting to the situation.

Hi. I, my wife, son & my parents live together. My marriage is on the rocks due to constant conflicts between my parents & my wife. Also there are issues about my in-laws’ constant interference. It’s a “Tit for Tat” situation between my parents & my wife. There are genuine problems with both my wife & parents attitude regarding petty household issues. They undoubtedly believe that the other person is at fault. Past issues regarding my brothers & their wives have also added fuel. Situation has worsened such now that after a physical altercation between my wife-mother in law & my parents, I have asked my wife to go to her parents house. It’s stale mate now. Please advise.

I would like to do consulling for my daughter – Sakshi 11yrs. Her major problem is in studies. She is giving correct answers at home but in exam, not able to write correctly. She is good in drawing, karate etc.
