Therapeutic Philosophy
Most people find that the more they understand what’s happening inside them, the less frightening it feels. Not because the problems disappear, but because confusion is exhausting, and clarity gives you somewhere to stand.
A lot of what makes emotions hard is that nobody really teaches us how to work with them. Avoiding difficult feelings does work, for a while. But avoidance has a cost, and most people reach a point where they’re tired of the energy it takes to keep things at bay.
Therapy isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about building a blueprint to navigate what’s already there. Many of the patterns that we feel stuck in today made sense once and were adaptable. The anxiety, anger, procrastination all helped you survive pain. Understanding this isn’t about excusing the past. It’s about recognising that, as an adult, you have options you didn’t have back then as a child.
If this feels familiar — You don't have to carry it alone
"I don't even know where to start."
"I feel completely alone in this, even when I'm surrounded by people."
"Nothing is technically wrong. So why do I feel this way?"
"Everything just hurts right now. They left and I don't know what to do with that."
"My parents have given me so much. I feel awful even bringing this up."
"I've been fine my whole life. I don't understand why I can't just get it together."
Therapeutic Modalities
01
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Works with the idea that we're made up of different parts, some protective, some hypervigilant, and that understanding those parts can reduce the inner conflict that wears you down.
02
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Helps you notice the connection between how you think, how you feel, and how you act, so you can start to shift patterns that aren't working for you. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Practical tools for managing intense emotions, navigating difficult relationships, and getting through moments that feel overwhelming.
03
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Less about eliminating what's painful, more about loosening its grip, so you can act in line with what actually matters to you, even when things are hard.
04
Trauma-Focused Therapy
A way of working that takes seriously how past experiences live in the body and mind, without requiring you to relive everything in order to move forward.
