Varsha’s aim as a psychologist & counsellor is to act as a bridge to her clients and help them achieve their personal goals. It is Varsha’s belief that any individual/couple/family can benefit from therapy. In her eyes, therapy is a medium through which clients achieve a better version of themselves.

In the capacity of an Individual, Couples, and Family Therapist, Varsha has worked extensively with over 90 clients from versatile backgrounds and varied diagnoses.

Varsha specializes in working with Couples with a focus of helping them strengthen their friendships, improving their communication and listening skills amongst other things. Varsha has successfully completed her Gottman Method Couples Therapy course and uses these tools to better help her clients.

Prior to Inner Space, Varsha worked at a community-based center in Canton, Ohio USA and a private practice in Kolkata, India as a psychologist and counsellor. While at the community center, she had the opportunity to work with several clients from the underprivileged population with severe mental health diagnoses. On the other hand, while at the private practice, Varsha got the opportunity to work with several Individuals, Couples, and Families. Varsha has had experience with consent forms, intake assessments, treatment plans, safety plans and she strives to ensure that the best practices are followed.

Recently, Varsha was invited as a Guest Speaker at Ajeenkya DY Patil University, where she introduced the psychology students to Marriage and Family Therapy.


Varsha completed her Bachelors in Human Development from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of Akron (Ohio, USA). She has also done a number of courses to expand her knowledge of psychotherapy.

• Counselling on Access to Lethal Means (Akron, USA),
• Interprofessional education on Poverty (Akron, USA), and
• Puberty in Children with Special Needs (Kolkata, India).
