Experience

 

  • In her capacity as a psychologist since the past 10 years at Inner Space, Malini primarily works with adults in individual, relationship and family therapy . At the same time she has also worked with children and adolescents.
  • She works with a broad range of emotional or psychological difficulties be it individual, in a relationship, or both. She also conducts psychological assessment of personality dynamics.
  • Malini has facilitated multiple mindfulness meditation sessions and trainings.
  • She mainly use humanistic, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based approaches in therapy. The humanistic school forms her overall approach as a therapist. She finds cognitive-behavioral approaches useful in providing structure and working with distortions in thoughts and perspectives.
  •  She believes that mindfulness based approaches have immense value in working with difficult emotions, long standing patterns and in shaping one’s overall attitude towards oneself and one’s life. 
  • She believes that therapy is a space of growth and exploration and aims to provide a holding space to enable self-exploration in a safe and  supportive environment.
 
  • Additionally, she has worked as a research associate at a management institute, consulted with an assessment and remedial center for children, consulted for individual and family therapy with the Air Force Station, worked with senior citizens with cognitive degeneration and conducted phone counseling for corporate employees with a helpline.
  •  She also used to conduct group counseling sessions with middle school children as part of consultancy with a counseling and remediation center.

Education

Malini completed here schooling from Queen Mary School, Mumbai.  She did her graduation from Mithibai college and her post graduation in Applied Psychology (Specialization: Clinical Psychology) from Mumbai University in 2010. She hasalso undergone training in Integral Somatic Psychology in January 2019, a holistic approach of understanding how the body too experiences all emotions and patterns along with the mind and therefore involving the body in the processing of emotions in therapy.
